The Hair (and equipment) Business During An Economic Decline

No matter where you turn today we hear about is how the world economy is slowing down. People are afraid of what is going on with jobs, savings and what the future has in store. If we think back our country has gone through all of this before, however right now it’s all happening at once. Eventually things will turn around and get stronger.

Till then how does this effect our businesses?

Simple; haircuts and chemical services grow out, people still need retail products to use at home so the business is still there. We just need to sharpen up our marketing skills and offer our clients something.

This past week I have been listening to local radio and scanning the local merchant circulars. WEGMANS a large regional food chain has been advertising and printing ads announcing their lower price commitment to shoppers. I went there this past week end and the prices are noticeably lower throughout the store.

Price your foil work by the foil – 2-6 dollars per foil.

Buy 6 months of hair color now and receive 20% off – would be doing 4 for regular price and one for free… Save you the time of repairing it 6 months down the road, plus you will see some customers more than you did last year!

What do you have to lose? Keeps you busy, a great way to give back during tougher times and pay forward.
